The DCMP announces the call for the Young Scientist Award to honor young researchers with excellent research achievements. Please,
see the attached PDF file for detailed instructions. Nomination documents should be submitted to AAPPS DCMP:dcmp.aapps@gmail.com until
June 30, 2024 (Extended deadline).
Eligibility
- PhD in physics or equivalent obtained within 8 years prior to nomination
- Work must have been done at an institution in the AAPPS member region.
- Current affiliation must be in an AAPPS member country.
- Must be a DCMP member.
Nominations
- Nominations must be submitted by a recommender (no self-nominations). Each DCMP member can recommend one candidate annually.
Selection Process
- Initial selection based on application documents.
- Finalists present at the DCMP annual conference (registration fee may be partially waived).
- Award includes one gold medal and several silver medals (number depends on applicants and finalists).
-Selection committee considers quality, significance, creativity, and originality of contributions. Prizes presented at the DCMP annual meeting.
Nomination Deadline and Format
- Similar format to AAPPS CN-Yang award with key differences.
- Nomination package includes:a. Recommendation letter (max 2 pages) detailing achievements and potential.

Publication list with URLs (DOIs) for five key publications and citation list. d. Nominee's 2-page description of achievements, impact, novelty, originality, and independence.
Important Note CN-Yang award winners are not eligible for the DCMP award, but applicants can apply for both awards.
